Accommodation

There is a welcome tray on your arrival. Other basic provisions can be provided by arrangement.

Large windows throughout the house allow plenty of light with chairs placed in prominent positions for glorious views of the mountains and valley.

Oaklea has two double bedrooms (cot available), one twin bedroom and one bunk bedroom. All bedrooms are tastefully and comfortably furnished and have fitted carpets throughout. Quality bed linen, duvets and soft towels are provided.

There are two toilets with WHBs (one upstairs and one downstairs) and an upstairs bathroom with WHB and bath with shower over.

Downstairs there are original wooden floors with cosy rugs. The relaxing sitting room has a bay window overlooking the mountains, comfy sofa and chairs, TV and DVD player and wood burning stove. There is a smaller snug/study with radio, CD player, books, jigsaws and games.

The dining room, with fabulous views, has an open period fireplace with armchairs on either side. A high chair is available.

The modern kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher (dishwasher tablets, washing powder & washing up liquid provided) microwave, toaster, cutlery/china, pots, pans and utensils. There is a freezer and second fridge in the outside shed nearby.

The entrance hall has a small cloakroom for coats and shoes and there is an under stairs cupboard for more storage and cleaning equipment, iron, ironing board and clothes airer.

An open outer porch is reached through the front door leading onto the lawn.

The property is fully oil fired centrally heated and all logs and coal are included. There is a telephone available. Some mobile phones have reception.

Outside there is ample parking and lighting. The large enclosed gardens and lawns have seats and tables for you to relax and unwind, read in blissful peace or just enjoy the amazing views. It is a great place for children to play and roam. There is a large gas barbeque for summer meals out of doors

There is a stable and barn belonging to the owners, which could be used by holidaymakers who wish to bring their horse, with ample room to park a horse box/ trailer. Grazing land adjacent to the house is also available. There is outside storage space for bikes.

Well behaved dogs only, by arrangement.

Nearest village is Longtown, two miles away. Pubs, restaurants, post office/shop (newspapers) - very well stocked with organic products and just about everything you need.
